Colleen Braun, Ed.D. Marriage and Family Therapy
Dr COLLEEN BRAUN is an educator, clinical psychologist, and organizational consultant with "been there" credentials as an intercultural communications specialist. She completed Masters and Doctoral programs in Behavioural Medicine at the University of Cincinnati (Ohio) and received post-doctoral certification in Family Therapy through the Department of Psychiatry. Affiliation with that institution's College of Medicine continued in her capacity as a faculty member, administrator, researcher, and clinician.Dr Braun left academic medicine to pursue opportunities in international health care. For more than 10 years, she averaged one trip around the world every three months carrying out organizational assessments and developing international programs for a European-based client.Presently, her work as a registered psychologist, family therapist, and chronic pain specialist is carried out in both Calgary and Halifax. Services provided her extensive portfolio of corporate clients encompasses consulting, training, and executive coaching. Dr Braun holds adjunct faculty status with Central Michigan University and teaches graduate level courses in various Canadian locations. In her "spare" time, she lectures throughout North America - and on cruise ships internationally - on wellness, cross-cultural communications, human relations, and personal effectiveness. Among her credits, Dr Braun lists more than 70 publications and presentations in North American and international medical journals. An honorary Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, she is listed in Who's Who Worldwide, and Who's Who in Professional Speaking.Dr Braun is credentialed to practice psychology in Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Nunavut, as well as Alberta and Nova Scotia. Her professional memberships include - among others - The Canadian Psychologists Association; American Psychological Association; Association for Multi-cultural Counseling and Development; and International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors.
