I. Lisa McCann PhD
I am a clinical psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst with 25 years experience. For the past twenty years I have been devoted to working with trauma survivors, including incest, rape, domestic violence, and other crimes, as well as accidents and war. I have published extensively in the field of traumatic stress, including the book "Psychological Trauma and the Adult Survivor: Theory, therapy, and transformation" co-authored with Laurie Pearlman while I was founder of the Traumatic Stress Institute in South Windsor, CT. I have most recently received 4 years advanced training at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland and am a certified Jungian analyst. I continue to have a commitment to women's issues, including such life span concerns as divorce and other losses, aging, sexual identity, depression, and spirituality. As part of my Jungian training, I incorporate dream analysis and art work in my practice. In addition, I see individual adults and adolescents as well as couples. I accept medicare and am covered under most health insurance plance. In addition to my practice in New York City, I have a practice in Woodstock, New York.
